Sherry L. Spears passed away from this life suddenly on May 22, 2010. Although her passing was unexpected, she is now in the peaceful arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Sherry was born on October 25, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to Clarence and Juanita Satterwhite. She attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from North High School in 1962. She retired from the Veterans Administration in 1997, working in Brecksville and Canton for a total of 32 years. She enjoyed cooking and worked with the East Akron Community Center a few years cooking and caring for the children in the daycare center after her retirement from the VA.  She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She was a very caring, helpful, and giving person, who never turned away a person in need.  Sherry was a frequent shopper, oftentimes, buying things for the people she cared about.  She truly enjoyed giving.  Sherry accepted Christ in 1997, and later became a member of Arlington Church of God where she was baptized.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Satterwhite; mother, Juanita Page; step-father, Easie Page; brother, Toney E. Page and special Aunt, Martha Satterwhite.

Sherry leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Derrick R. Spears; brothers and sisters, Annie Ruth (Charles) Beecher, Stewart (Ethel) Satterwhite, Katrina(Tyrone) Brown, Michael Page; special cousins, Benjamin Watkins, Joy (Frank) Wallace, and Susan K. King, all of Akron, Ohio; step-brother and sister, Willie James Page of Toledo, Ohio, Rachel Page of Chicago, Illinois, and a host of loving nieces, relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Arlington Church of God, 529 Arlington St., Akron, OH 44306.  Rev. Dr. Diana Swoope officiating.  Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.  Procession will form at 197 S. Rose Blvd. and condolences may be sent to 641 Cuyahoga St. St. Akron, OH 44310.
