Robert Harrison James was called from labor to reward on June 4, 2010, at home surrounded by family and friends.  He was born to Bertha L. and Robert H. James on May 2, 1945, in Akron, OH.  At an early age, he accepted Christ at Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and, in recent years, serving at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a loving and generous man and helped everyone he met.  He served his country in the Vietnam War and retired from Goodyear after 41 ½ years of service.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Henry James.  He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Bertha L. James; devoted children, Lamonte James, Robiny Elmer (Todd), Michelle James (Becky); siblings Janice Colvin, Marcia Stallworth (Rev. Ernest), Jeanette Williams (Joe), Kenneth James (DeVonna); grand-daughters Shauna James, Danielle James, Timia Lavender, Tiana Lavender; special friend, Diana (Dee-Dee) Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH  44307, Rev. Eugene Shy officiating.  Interment Mount Peace Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 693 Virginia Ave., Akron, OH  44306
