Paul Ernest Brown was born on April 2, 1937, in Akron, Ohio.  He went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2010.  Paul was the youngest child born to Harold and Virginia Brown.  He was educated in the Akron Public School system and graduated from Central High School.  Paul then attended and graduated from Edward Waters Junior College in Jacksonville, Florida, and continued his studies at the University of Akron.  Paul served in the United States Army and worked various jobs including the railroad industry.  In 1989, he was no longer able to work due to ill health.  Paul was a member of Holy  Trinity United Methodist Church, where he attended until his health prevented him from doing so.  In 1959, he was united in marriage to Ann Carmichael and to this union two children were born Valecia Brown Pickett and Gregory P. Brown.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Virginia Brown; brother, Harold Brown, Jr.; and former wife, Ann Brown.  He is survived by his children, Ivan (Sheila) Howard of Jacksonville, Florida, Valecia Brown Pickett, Gregory Brown (Erika Heller); and former son-in-law, William Alan Pickett; grandchildren, Travis, Ivan, and Monique Howard all of Jacksonville, Florida, Briana Pickett, Alan Pickett, Latrica Wright, Jernerrial Wright, and Sunsharae Heller, all of Akron, Ohio;  a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307.  Pastor Dennis K. Butts, Sr. officiating.  Friends may call at the chapel from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 990 Hartford Ave. Akron, OH 44320.
