Janet Arlene Murphy passed away on June 19, 2010 after a short illness.  Born on November 17, 1932 in Massillon, OH., she attended and graduated from Massillon Washington High School.  After graduating from Kent State University, she taught in the Akron Public School system for 32 years.  She was an active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and was a devout member of Wesley Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Erma Ware; sisters, Margena Robinson and Joyce Ware; and brother, Ralph (Laura) Ware, Jr.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Murphy, Jr.; son, Jamie (Monyka) Murphy; brother, Roland (Betty) Ware; sister-in-law, Pat (Walter) Richardson and sister-in-law, Francis (Ali) Raheem; and grandson, Camden Murphy.
