Haretta M. Richards, 79, passed away peacefully to her eternal rest on February 22, 2010.  Haretta was born January 27, 1931 in Bluefield, West Virginia.  She moved to Akron, OH in 1960 where she worked retail for Acme/Click stores for over 30 years.  Haretta retired in 1993. 

Haretta enjoyed volunteering at Callis Tower.  She also enjoyed traveling on casino trips, fishing and working on puzzles.  Her special joy was spending time with her grandson.  She was a former member of The Greater Bethel Baptist Church.

Haretta was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Geneva Richards; brother, Harold Matney; beloved friend, Melvin Banks Sr.; best friend, Odessa Colvin.  She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Dorothy Richards; grandson, Lorenzo Jackson, both of Akron, OH; brother, Charles (Bobbey) Richards Jr, of Grand Prairie, Texas; and other friends and family.

   Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307.  Friends may call at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Lorenzo Glenn officiating. Interment Mt.
