Mom Callie Watson was born in Rodessa, Louisiana, August 19, 1923 to the late Gifford and Jetter Nelson.  Ohio became her home at an early age; residing in the Akron area until her death.  She often said that her happiest moments were her times with her God, her family and all other families.  She tried to reach everyone through her smiles and love for them.  She could be heard often saying “God loves you and so do I!”

Callie was preceded in death by loving father; mother; two brothers; and one son, Clifford.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory, beloved daughter, Della Watson-Frederick; son, Ivory (Crystal) Watson; her adopted family and Minnie Drone; special grandson, Rayshawn; grandchildren, Tihana Aisha Frederick, Amena Watson Miller, Angie Watson; and six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307.  Interment East Akron Cemetery.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 547 Montgomery St., Akron, OH 44305.
