Mrs. Bessie Haynes of 996 Copley Rd. went home to be with the Lord June 24, 2009 after a long illness.  An Akron resident since 1923, she was born in Covington, GA.  She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Forrest Haynes and two sons, Robert and Richard (Dickie) Dove.  She leaves to mourn her homegoing, devoted grandson, Frank (Mary) McCray of Akron, Ohio; foster son, Ronald Leonard of New York, NY; Foster grand-daughter Janniece of GA; great-grandchildren, Frank Jr., Erik, Eleanor, Felisha,  Franci, Precious; great-great grandchildren, Eboni, Carlos Jr., Ethan, Jaylyn, and Cameron all of Akron, Ohio, and a host of other relatives and friends.  Special thanks to her loving care-givers: Marsha Morale, Johnnie Johnson, Emma White all of Akron, Ohio.  Special thanks to Visiting Nurse Home Hospice Care nurses: Linda, Barb, and Bonnie.

Homegoing services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on July 1, 2009 at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307.  Rev. David Nelson officiating.  Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery.  Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. until time of service.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 996 Copley Rd, Akron 44320
