Abro “Boot” Washington Sr., 56, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Akron General Hospital. Abro attended Akron Public schools and graduated from Buchtel High School, 1972.  He worked at the University of Akron for a short time and later retired from the City of Akron’s Water Pollution Control with 26 years of service.

 He was preceded in death by mother, Marie Washington; father, Prince Washington Sr.; brothers, James Dotson and Charles Washington Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories son, Abro (Angela)Washington Jr.; daughter, Keyonna (Jeff) Willis; grandchildren, Brittany, Akilah, Kayla, Donovan and Clayton; brothers, Robert (Deborah) Dotson Sr. of Fort Washington, Maryland; Lawrence Dotson Sr. of Saint Louis, Missouri; Prince Washington of Akron, Ohio, Taft (Mary) Washington of Atlanta Georgia; sisters, Margaret Wilson of Akron, and Desiree (Victor Bell) of  Kennett Sq., Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Lottie Dotson of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Wayne Norris. Also uncle, Cleaven Miller; cousins Robert and Annie Potts; former wives, Debbie Jewell, Pat Boykins and Rosalind Rogers; special friend, Bert Williams. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Boot touched everyone he met with love and laughter.  We will miss him greatly!

Services will be held on Thursday, January28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at The House Of The Lord, 1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320.  Pastor Dennis K. Butts, Sr. officiating.  Friends may call at the church from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1872 12^th St. S.W., Akron, OH. 44314.
